Bible Reading
Genesis 32:22–30, NLT
22 During the night Jacob got up and took his two wives, his two servant wives, and his eleven sons and crossed the Jabbok River with them. 23 After taking them to the other side, he sent over all his possessions.
24 This left Jacob all alone in the camp, and a man came and wrestled with him until the dawn began to break. 25 When the man saw that he would not win the match, he touched Jacob’s hip and wrenched it out of its socket. 26 Then the man said, “Let me go, for the dawn is breaking!”
But Jacob said, “I will not let you go unless you bless me.”
27 “What is your name?” the man asked.
He replied, “Jacob.”
28 “Your name will no longer be Jacob,” the man told him. “From now on you will be called Israel, because you have fought with God and with men and have won.”
29 “Please tell me your name,” Jacob said.
“Why do you want to know my name?” the man replied. Then he blessed Jacob there.
30 Jacob named the place Peniel (which means “face of God”), for he said, “I have seen God face to face, yet my life has been spared.”
Devotion
Jacob’s story is all about transformation. From the moment he was born, grasping his brother’s heel, Jacob was known as the deceiver—the one who grasped, tricked, and schemed his way through life. But here at the river, everything changed. When he wrestled with God, Jacob came face-to-face with the truth: his strength wasn’t enough.

His blessing wouldn’t come by manipulation. It would come by surrender. In that moment, God gave him a new name and a new identity. The deceiver became Israel, the one who wrestled with God and prevailed.

As we continue this journey of transformation, remember: real change doesn’t come by holding tighter to what you can do. It comes by holding on to God and refusing to let go until His blessing defines your life.
Prayer
1. Praise & Worship
  • Lord, You are the God who meets me even in my wrestling. You don’t turn away when I struggle, but You step into the struggle with me. I worship You because Your presence never leaves me.
  • I praise You because You are the One who gives new names and new identities. You see beyond my failures and speak over me who I really am in You (Isaiah 62:2).
  • Thank You that I can see You face to face and still live, just like Jacob at Peniel. Your mercy and grace cover me when I should not be able to stand in Your presence.

Prayer Prompts:
  • “Lord, I worship You because even in my wrestling, You…” (for example: gave me peace in my doubts, hope in my fears, or strength in my weakness. Add what comes to your mind.)
  • “I praise You because You have renamed me from… to…” (this might look like: anxious to peaceful, selfish to servant-hearted, ashamed to forgiven. Keep naming your own.)

2. Repentance & Surrender
  • God, forgive me for the ways I try to scheme and control outcomes like Jacob. Too often I depend on my own strength instead of trusting Yours. Today I repent of my striving.
  • I confess the times I’ve held onto my old identity: labels, mistakes, or sins that You’ve already taken away. I surrender those false names and receive the name You’ve spoken over me.
  • I surrender the fight to always be in control. I give You my need to win, prove myself, or grasp for blessing on my terms. Your way is better than mine.

Prayer Prompts:
  • “Lord, I confess I’ve been grasping for control in…” (for example: my finances, my family, or my future. Say what fits your heart.)
  • “I surrender my old identity of… and receive Your new name of…” (this might look like: failure to forgiven, deceiver to child of God, weak to strong in You. Keep going with your own.)

3. Intercession
  • Lord, I pray for those I know who are wrestling right now. They may be wrestling with fear, doubt, sin, or brokenness. Meet them like You met Jacob and show them You are near.
  • I lift up friends and family who are fighting battles in their own strength. Teach them to cling to You instead of their own abilities. Let their weakness become the place where Your power is revealed (2 Corinthians 12:9).
  • Bless those who are weary in the struggle. Give them a new name, a fresh identity, and the courage to walk with a limp if it means walking with You.

Prayer Prompts:
  • “Lord, I bring (name) before You. In their wrestling, would You…” (for example: give them peace in their storm, hope in their waiting, or strength in their weakness. Add specifics as you pray.)
  • “Jesus, I ask You to give (name) a new identity of…” (this might look like: confident in You, forgiven and free, bold in faith. Keep going with your own words.)

4. Transformation
  • Lord, transform my struggle into strength. Just as Jacob walked away with a limp but also with a blessing, help me embrace the wounds that make me more dependent on You.
  • Transform my identity. Where I have lived as a deceiver, striver, or failure, call me by the name You’ve chosen for me. Let me see myself through Your truth, not my past.
  • Transform my future by Your blessing. Like Israel, let my story become one of faith, perseverance, and testimony, not because I fought hard enough but because I clung to You.

Prayer Prompts:
  • “Lord, take my struggle with… and transform it into…” (for example: my impatience into endurance, my fear into courage, my self-reliance into trust. Add your own.)
  • “Jesus, I believe You have named me… help me live fully into that identity.” (this might look like: loved, chosen, forgiven, bold. Keep naming the truth He’s spoken over you.)

5. Contemplation
  • Sit quietly, close your eyes, and picture yourself at the river with Jacob. You are all alone when God steps into the struggle with you.
  • Imagine wrestling with Him through the night. Feel His hand touch your weakest place—reminding you that you can’t win this fight on your own.
  • Hear Him ask, “What is your name?” and then speak a new identity over you. Let His words settle deep in your spirit before you move on.

Closing Prayer
  • Lord, I give myself to You again today. Transform my heart, renew my mind, and lead me in Your ways.

Bible Reading
Isaiah 6:1-8, NLT
1 It was in the year King Uzziah died that I saw the Lord. He was sitting on a lofty throne, and the train of his robe filled the Temple. 2 Attending him were mighty seraphim, each having six wings. With two wings they covered their faces, with two they covered their feet, and with two they flew. 3 They were calling out to each other, “Holy, holy, holy is the Lord of Heaven’s Armies! The whole earth is filled with his glory!”
4 Their voices shook the Temple to its foundations, and the entire building was filled with smoke.
5 Then I said, “It’s all over! I am doomed, for I am a sinful man. I have filthy lips, and I live among a people with filthy lips. Yet I have seen the King, the Lord of Heaven’s Armies.”
6 Then one of the seraphim flew to me with a burning coal he had taken from the altar with a pair of tongs. 7 He touched my lips with it and said, “See, this coal has touched your lips. Now your guilt is removed, and your sins are forgiven.”
8 Then I heard the Lord asking, “Whom should I send as a messenger to this people? Who will go for us?”
I said, “Here I am. Send me.”
Devotion
Isaiah’s transformation began with a vision of God’s holiness. The glory of the Lord shook the temple, and Isaiah realized how unclean he was. But God didn’t leave him in shame. He sent an angel to touch Isaiah’s lips with a burning coal, symbolizing cleansing and forgiveness. That moment changed Isaiah forever. From confessing, “I am doomed,” he moved to declaring, “Here I am - send me.”

This is what happens when we see God as He really is. His holiness exposes our sin, but His mercy removes it. And when we experience His cleansing, we can’t help but answer His call. Transformation always moves us from being undone to being sent.
Prayer
1. Praise & Worship
  • Lord, You are holy, holy, holy. Your glory fills the whole earth, and even the angels never stop declaring who You are. I lift my heart to join in their worship.
  • I praise You because You sit on a throne high above it all. Nothing shakes You, but Your presence shakes everything around You.
  • I worship You as the One who cleanses me and makes me worthy to stand in Your presence. Without You, I am undone, but with You, I am forgiven.

Prayer Prompts:
  • “Lord, I worship You as holy in the area of…” (for example: my family, my work, my inner life. Add what comes to mind.)
  • “I praise You because You are greater than…” (this might look like: my fears, my financial stress, or my health struggles. Keep naming your own.)

2. Repentance & Surrender
  • God, I confess that like Isaiah, my lips have been unclean. I have said things that don’t honor You and have stayed silent when I should have spoken truth. Forgive me and cleanse my words.
  • I admit that I live among people of unclean lips. Too often I have absorbed the world’s ways instead of reflecting Yours. I surrender my desire to blend in and ask You to set me apart.
  • I confess my sin not to wallow in shame but to be cleansed by Your fire. Touch the places of my heart that need Your purifying work, and don’t let me resist.

Prayer Prompts:
  • “Lord, forgive me for words I’ve spoken that were…” (for example: harsh, careless, or dishonest. Say what fits your heart.)
  • “Jesus, purify me in the area of…” (this might look like: my thoughts, my desires, or my attitudes. Keep going with what applies to you.)

3. Intercession
  • Lord, I pray for those around me who live in shame or feel unworthy of Your presence. Just as You touched Isaiah with cleansing fire, touch them with forgiveness and mercy.
  • I lift up leaders, pastors, and teachers who need a fresh touch from You. Purify their hearts and strengthen their voices to speak with boldness.
  • I pray for our church to see You high and lifted up. Let us encounter Your holiness in such a way that we are humbled, cleansed, and sent into Your mission.

Prayer Prompts:
  • “God, I bring (name) before You. Remove their shame and show them…” (for example: Your mercy, Your love, or Your forgiveness. Add your own words.)
  • “Lord, set our church on fire with holiness so that we…” (this might look like: live boldly, love deeply, or serve faithfully. Keep naming your own.)

4. Transformation
  • Jesus, transform me from undone to sent. Don’t let me stop at confessing my sin, move me into the calling You have for me.
  • Transform my mouth. Use my lips not for complaining or careless words but for declaring Your Word and building up others.
  • Transform my life into one that says, “Here I am. Send me.” Make me willing to go wherever You lead, no matter the cost.

Prayer Prompts:
  • “Lord, take my weakness in… and transform it into a testimony of…” (for example: fear into faith, doubt into boldness, selfishness into service. Add what applies to you.)
  • “Jesus, I say to You today: Here I am. Send me into…” (this might look like: my workplace, my neighborhood, or my family. Keep going with your own.)

5. Contemplation
  • Sit quietly, close your eyes, and picture yourself in the temple with Isaiah. The ground shakes, the smoke rises, and the angels cry out, “Holy, holy, holy.”
  • Imagine seeing the Lord high and lifted up. Feel the weight of His holiness… not to crush you, but to reveal His greatness.
  • Hear Him ask, “Whom shall I send? Who will go for us?” Let the question settle. When you’re ready, respond from your heart: “Here I am. Send me.”

Closing Prayer
  • Lord, I give myself to You again today. Transform my heart, renew my mind, and lead me in Your ways.

Bible Reading
John 4:4–15, 28–30, NLT
4 He had to go through Samaria on the way. 5 Eventually he came to the Samaritan village of Sychar, near the field that Jacob gave to his son Joseph. 6 Jacob’s well was there; and Jesus, tired from the long walk, sat wearily beside the well about noontime. 7 Soon a Samaritan woman came to draw water, and Jesus said to her, “Please give me a drink.” 8 He was alone at the time because his disciples had gone into the village to buy some food.
9 The woman was surprised, for Jews refuse to have anything to do with Samaritans. She said to Jesus, “You are a Jew, and I am a Samaritan woman. Why are you asking me for a drink?”
10 Jesus replied, “If you only knew the gift God has for you and who you are speaking to, you would ask me, and I would give you living water.”
11 “But sir, you don’t have a rope or a bucket,” she said, “and this well is very deep. Where would you get this living water? 12 And besides, do you think you’re greater than our ancestor Jacob, who gave us this well? How can you offer better water than he and his sons and his animals enjoyed?”
13 Jesus replied, “Anyone who drinks this water will soon become thirsty again. 14 But those who drink the water I give will never be thirsty again. It becomes a fresh, bubbling spring within them, giving them eternal life.”
15 “Please, sir,” the woman said, “give me this water! Then I’ll never be thirsty again, and I won’t have to come here to get water.”

28 The woman left her water jar beside the well and ran back to the village, telling everyone, 29 “Come and see a man who told me everything I ever did! Could he possibly be the Messiah?” 30 So the people came streaming from the village to see him.
Devotion
The woman at the well came burdened by shame, avoiding the crowds by fetching water at noon. But one encounter with Jesus changed everything.

He didn’t just expose her past.  He offered her living water, a brand-new life. She left her water jar behind, symbolizing the old life she no longer needed, and became the first evangelist in her town.

That’s the power of transformation. Jesus doesn’t only meet us in the places we hide. He restores us and sends us out as His witnesses. When we drink the living water He gives, our shame is replaced with boldness, and our isolation turns into influence.
Prayer
1. Praise & Worship
  • Jesus, You are the Living Water that satisfies my soul. Nothing else can quench my thirst like You can. I praise You because You meet me right where I am.
  • Lord, You are greater than Jacob, greater than traditions, and greater than my own efforts. You are the source of eternal life that never runs dry.
  • I worship You because You don’t turn away from me in my shame. You sit with me in my brokenness and offer me a new beginning.

Prayer Prompts:
  • “Jesus, I worship You as the Living Water because…” (for example: You refresh me when I’m weary, You satisfy me when nothing else can, You fill me with hope. Add what comes to your mind.)
  • “I praise You because in my life You have met me at…” (this might look like: my lowest point, my greatest need, my deepest shame. Keep naming your own moments.)

2. Repentance & Surrender
  • Lord, forgive me for the ways I try to satisfy my thirst with lesser things. I confess the wells I’ve been running to that cannot fill me. I surrender my false sources and turn to You.
  • I admit the shame I’ve been carrying… things I’d rather keep hidden. But You already see it all, and still You love me. Today I bring it into the light.
  • I lay down the old jars I’ve been carrying… the habits, secrets, and burdens that weigh me down. I don’t need them anymore because You’ve given me living water.

Prayer Prompts:
  • “Lord, forgive me for trying to quench my thirst with…” (for example: success, approval, entertainment, or unhealthy habits. Say what fits your heart.)
  • “Jesus, today I lay down… and receive Your living water instead.” (this might look like: guilt, addiction, fear, or bitterness. Keep going with what He brings to mind.)

3. Intercession
  • Lord, I pray for those who feel stuck in shame like the woman at the well. Reveal Yourself to them in such a personal way that they know You see them and love them.
  • I lift up people who are searching for meaning but keep ending up empty. Lead them to the Living Water that only You can give.
  • I pray for my community. Just like the woman ran to tell her village, let my town come running to You because of what You’re doing in our lives.

Prayer Prompts:
  • “God, I lift up (name). They are thirsty for… would You satisfy them with Yourself?” (for example: peace, identity, love, or direction. Add specifics for the person you’re praying for.)
  • “Jesus, I ask You to use me in my community so that…” (this might look like: my coworkers see Your joy, my neighbors feel Your love, my family experiences Your truth. Keep going with your own words.)

4. Transformation
  • Jesus, transform my shame into testimony. Don’t let my past keep me silent. Use it to point others to Your grace.
  • Transform my thirst into satisfaction. Where I’ve been running dry, fill me with Your Spirit until it overflows to others (John 7:38).
  • Transform my influence. Like the woman at the well, make me a witness who says with confidence, “Come and see what Jesus has done.”

Prayer Prompts:
  • “Lord, take the place of shame in my life and turn it into…” (for example: courage to share my story, boldness to encourage others, or gratitude that overflows. Add your own.)
  • “Jesus, I believe You’ve filled me with living water. Help me to pour it out by…” (this might look like: serving my church, showing kindness to a neighbor, or speaking hope to someone hurting. Keep adding your own ways.)

5. Contemplation
  • Sit quietly and picture yourself at the well at noon, tired and ashamed. Jesus is waiting for you there.
  • Imagine Him pointing out the “empty wells” you’ve been running to. As He names them, see Him offering you living water instead.
  • What does it feel like to walk away lighter, free, and overflowing with His Spirit?

Closing Prayer
  • Lord, I give myself to You again today. Transform my heart, renew my mind, and lead me in Your ways.

Friday 9/12/25

Bible Reading
Mark 5:1–8, 15, 18–20, NLT
1 So they arrived at the other side of the lake, in the region of the Gerasenes. 2 When Jesus climbed out of the boat, a man possessed by an evil spirit came out from the tombs to meet him. 3 This man lived in the burial caves and could no longer be restrained, even with a chain. 4 Whenever he was put into chains and shackles—as he often was—he snapped the chains from his wrists and smashed the shackles. No one was strong enough to subdue him. 5 Day and night he wandered among the burial caves and in the hills, howling and cutting himself with sharp stones.
6 When Jesus was still some distance away, the man saw him, ran to meet him, and bowed low before him. 7 With a shriek, he screamed, “Why are you interfering with me, Jesus, Son of the Most High God? In the name of God, I beg you, don’t torture me!” 8 For Jesus had already said to the spirit, “Come out of the man, you evil spirit.”

15 A crowd soon gathered around Jesus, and they saw the man who had been possessed by the legion of demons. He was sitting there fully clothed and perfectly sane, and they were all afraid.

18 As Jesus was getting into the boat, the man who had been demon possessed begged to go with him. 19 But Jesus said, “No, go home to your family, and tell them everything the Lord has done for you and how merciful he has been.” 20 So the man started off to visit the Ten Towns of that region and began to proclaim the great things Jesus had done for him; and everyone was amazed at what he told them.
Devotion
This man’s life was a picture of torment… cut off from people, chained by others, and chained by his own destruction. But when he met Jesus, everything changed. The demons that controlled him had no power against His authority. In one moment, he went from naked, broken, and isolated to clothed, restored, and sent out as a witness.

That’s transformation. Jesus doesn’t just free us from what binds us… He restores our dignity and gives us a mission. The man begged to follow Jesus physically, but Jesus sent him back to his community with a story. Transformation always gives us a testimony.
Prayer
1. Praise & Worship
  • Jesus, I praise You because no power of darkness can stand against You. Even the demons bow at Your name, for You are the Son of the Most High God.
  • I worship You as the One who restores what is broken. You take a life the enemy has wrecked and rebuild it into a testimony of Your mercy.
  • I praise You that when the world sees hopelessness, You see possibility. Nothing is beyond Your reach, and no one is beyond Your love.

Prayer Prompts:
  • “Jesus, I worship You today because Your power is greater than…” (for example: my fears, my temptations, or my doubts. Add what comes to your mind.)
  • “Lord, I praise You because You have restored me in…” (this might look like: my thought life, my relationships, or my health. Keep naming your own.)

2. Repentance & Surrender
  • Lord, forgive me for the times I’ve run to destructive patterns instead of to You. I admit that on my own I can’t break free, but I surrender those chains into Your hands.
  • I repent of believing the lies of the enemy… that I’m too broken, too bound, or too far gone. Today I believe Your truth that who the Son sets free is free indeed (John 8:36).
  • I lay down the shame I’ve been carrying. You don’t just want to free me; You want to restore me fully. I surrender to Your healing touch.

Prayer Prompts:
  • “Lord, I confess that I’ve been chained by…” (for example: anger, addiction, fear, or insecurity. Say what fits your heart.)
  • “Jesus, I surrender the shame of… and ask You to cover me with Your mercy.” (this might look like: my past mistakes, my hidden struggles, or my regrets. Keep adding your own.)

3. Intercession
  • Jesus, I intercede for those who are tormented, whether by addiction, depression, fear, or spiritual oppression. Break their chains like You did for the man in the tombs.
  • I pray for families who feel hopeless as they watch loved ones suffer. Give them faith to believe You can bring deliverance.
  • I ask You to raise up powerful testimonies in my community. Let people see the change in lives set free and be amazed at Your mercy.

Prayer Prompts:
  • “Lord, I lift up (name). They feel bound by… would You set them free?” (for example: depression, bitterness, or destructive habits. Add specifics as you pray.)
  • “Jesus, I ask You to make their story into a testimony that…” (this might look like: shows Your mercy, brings hope to others, or glorifies Your power. Keep going with your own words.)

4. Transformation
  • Jesus, transform me from bound to free, from broken to whole. Like the man in the tombs, let my life display the power of Your mercy.
  • Transform me into a witness. I don’t want to just receive freedom; I want to share what You’ve done so others can believe.
  • Transform my community through the ripple effects of changed lives. Let the amazement of others become the beginning of their faith.

Prayer Prompts:
  • Jesus, use my story of… to encourage someone who needs hope.” (for example: a past failure, a hard season, or a answered prayer. Add your own.)
  • “Jesus, I ask You to use me in my home/town/workplace to show…” (this might look like: Your peace, Your compassion, or Your freedom. Keep naming what applies to your life.)

5. Contemplation
  • Sit quietly and picture yourself in the tombs… isolated, broken, and bound.
  • Suddenly Jesus steps onto the shore. Imagine yourself running to Him and falling at His feet.
  • See yourself clothed, whole, and sitting by His side. Let His mercy wash over you as you hear Him say, “Go and tell what I have done for you.”

Closing Prayer
  • Lord, I give myself to You again today. Transform my heart, renew my mind, and lead me in Your ways.

Saturday 9/13/25

Bible Reading
John 21:15-19, NLT
15 After breakfast Jesus asked Simon Peter, “Simon son of John, do you love me more than these?”
“Yes, Lord,” Peter replied, “you know I love you.”
“Then feed my lambs,” Jesus told him.
16 Jesus repeated the question: “Simon son of John, do you love me?”
“Yes, Lord,” Peter said, “you know I love you.”
“Then take care of my sheep,” Jesus said.
17 A third time he asked him, “Simon son of John, do you love me?”
Peter was hurt that Jesus asked the question a third time. He said, “Lord, you know everything. You know that I love you.”
Jesus said, “Then feed my sheep.
18 “I tell you the truth, when you were young, you were able to do as you liked; you dressed yourself and went wherever you wanted to go. But when you are old, you will stretch out your hands, and others will dress you and take you where you don’t want to go.” 19 Jesus said this to let him know by what kind of death he would glorify God. Then Jesus told him, “Follow
Devotion
Peter had promised he would never deny Jesus, but when the pressure came, he denied Him three times. Failure weighed heavy on Peter’s heart, but Jesus didn’t leave him in shame. Around another charcoal fire, Jesus gave Peter a chance to reaffirm his love three times, undoing his denials. Then He restored Peter to his calling: “Feed my sheep.”

That’s what transformation looks like. Jesus doesn’t just forgive our failures; He redeems them. He takes the moments we regret most and rewrites them into testimonies of His grace. Like Peter, we can move from shame to purpose when we let Jesus restore us.
Prayer
1. Praise & Worship
  • Jesus, I praise You because You are full of grace and truth. You don’t define me by my failures, but by Your forgiveness.
  • I worship You as the One who restores what is broken. Even when I deny You with my words or actions, You call me back to Yourself.
  • You know everything about me. You know my weakness, and still You invite me to follow You.

Prayer Prompts:
  • “Jesus, I worship You today because You have restored me in…” (for example: my family, my faith, my thought life. Add your own.)
  • Jesus, I thank You that You restored me after my failure in…” (for example: a broken relationship, a season of doubt, or a wrong choice. Add your own.)

2. Repentance & Surrender
  • Lord, forgive me for the times I’ve denied You… whether with my words, my silence, or my actions. I confess my weakness and ask for Your mercy.
  • I repent of letting fear or pressure cause me to shrink back from following You boldly. I surrender my reputation and my comfort to honor You.
  • I confess that I sometimes replay my failures instead of receiving Your forgiveness. Today I release them and receive Your cleansing.

Prayer Prompts:
  • “Lord, I confess that I denied You when…” (for example: I stayed silent instead of speaking up, I chose comfort over obedience, or I let fear stop me. Add your own.)
  • Jesus, I surrender the shame of…” (for example: a past decision, a broken relationship, or a repeated weakness. Add your own.)

3. Intercession
  • Lord, I pray for those weighed down by failure. Remind them that You are the God of second chances, and call them back into Your purpose.
  • I lift up those who feel disqualified by their past. Restore their confidence in Your calling and equip them to serve again.
  • I ask You to strengthen those who are tempted to deny You under pressure. Fill them with courage and boldness to stand firm.

Prayer Prompts:
  • “Lord, I lift up (name). They feel disqualified because… remind them that You still love them.” (for example: past mistakes, brokenness, or sin. Add specifics.)
  • “Jesus, give (name) boldness to follow You even when…” (this might look like: their friends oppose them, work makes it hard, or fear tries to stop them. Keep going with your own.)

4. Transformation
  • Jesus, transform my shame into purpose. Don’t let my failures be the last word; let them become the doorway to my calling.
  • Lord, transform my love for You into action. Just as You told Peter to feed Your sheep, show me how to live out my love through serving others.
  • Father, transform my future. Even if it leads through difficulty or sacrifice, let my life glorify You from start to finish.

Prayer Prompts:
  • “Lord, take my failure in… and make it a testimony of Your grace.” (for example: fear, weakness, or pride. Add your own.)
  • “Jesus, because I love You, help me to show it today by…” (this might look like: serving someone, speaking truth, or encouraging a friend. Keep going with your own.)

5. Contemplation
  • Sit quietly and picture yourself by the fire with Jesus. He looks at you with eyes full of grace and truth.
  • Hear Him ask you three times, “Do you love Me?” Let His question sink deeply into your heart.
  • Imagine yourself responding with honesty, and then hear Him say, “Follow Me.” Rest in the call of His voice.

Closing Prayer
  • Lord, I give myself to You again today. Transform my heart, renew my mind, and lead me in Your ways.

Sunday 9/14/25

Bible Reading
Luke 15:11–24, NLT
11 To illustrate the point further, Jesus told them this story: “A man had two sons. 12 The younger son told his father, ‘I want my share of your estate now before you die.’ So his father agreed to divide his wealth between his sons.
13 “A few days later this younger son packed all his belongings and moved to a distant land, and there he wasted all his money in wild living. 14 About the time his money ran out, a great famine swept over the land, and he began to starve. 15 He persuaded a local farmer to hire him, and the man sent him into his fields to feed the pigs. 16 The young man became so hungry that even the pods he was feeding the pigs looked good to him. But no one gave him anything.
17 “When he finally came to his senses, he said to himself, ‘At home even the hired servants have food enough to spare, and here I am dying of hunger! 18 I will go home to my father and say, “Father, I have sinned against both heaven and you, 19 and I am no longer worthy of being called your son. Please take me on as a hired servant.”’
20 “So he returned home to his father. And while he was still a long way off, his father saw him coming. Filled with love and compassion, he ran to his son, embraced him, and kissed him. 21 His son said to him, ‘Father, I have sinned against both heaven and you, and I am no longer worthy of being called your son.’
22 “But his father said to the servants, ‘Quick! Bring the finest robe in the house and put it on him. Get a ring for his finger and sandals for his feet. 23 And kill the calf we have been fattening. We must celebrate with a feast, 24 for this son of mine was dead and has now returned to life. He was lost, but now he is found.’ So the party began.
Devotion
The prodigal son walked away from everything good, chasing his own desires until he ended up empty, starving, and ashamed. But when he came to his senses, he realized he could go back to his father. What he expected was punishment, but what he found was mercy. Instead of rejection, he was embraced. Instead of humiliation, he was restored as a son.

This is the heart of transformation: we are not just forgiven… we are welcomed home. Our Father runs to us with compassion, covers us with His grace, and celebrates our return. No matter how far we’ve wandered, His love can restore us to life.
Prayer
1. Praise & Worship
  • Lord, I praise You because You are full of compassion. You see me while I am still far away, and You run to meet me with love.
  • I worship You because You don’t just forgive, You restore. You clothe me with honor and dignity when I least deserve it.
  • I praise You that heaven rejoices when the lost are found. You are a God who throws a party when sinners come home.

Prayer Prompts:
  • “Father, I worship You because You ran to me when…” (for example: I was discouraged, I was ashamed, or I had wandered away. Add your own.)
  • “Lord, I praise You because You restored me from…” (this might look like: fear, guilt, or failure. Keep going with your own.)

2. Repentance & Surrender
  • Lord, forgive me for chasing after things that never satisfy. I confess that I’ve wasted time, energy, and affection on empty pursuits.
  • I admit that I’ve tried to live independently from You. I repent of the pride that makes me think I can do life on my own.
  • I surrender my shame and unworthiness. I choose to believe that You call me Your child, not just Your servant.

Prayer Prompts:
  • “Lord, forgive me for running after…” (for example: money, approval, or comfort. Add your own.)
  • “Jesus, I surrender the shame of…” (this might look like: past mistakes, hidden regrets, or bad choices. Keep naming your own.)

3. Intercession
  • Father, I pray for prodigals I know… sons, daughters, friends, or family who are far from You. Open their eyes to come to their senses and turn back home.
  • I ask You to surround them with reminders of Your love. Let them feel the emptiness of sin but also the hope of Your mercy.
  • I pray for parents, spouses, and loved ones waiting for prodigals to return. Give them faith to keep watching the road with expectation.

Prayer Prompts:
  • “God, I lift up (name). They are far from You—let them…” (for example: see Your love, feel Your mercy, or come to repentance. Add your own.)
  • “Lord, give hope to (name) as they wait for…” (this might look like: a child’s return, a spouse’s faith, or a friend’s breakthrough. Keep praying your own.)

4. Transformation
  • Jesus, transform my heart from rebellion to repentance. Don’t let me stay in the pigpen when You’ve prepared a place at the table.
  • Transform my shame into joy. Let me wear the robe, ring, and sandals of a restored child of God with confidence.
  • Transform my story into a testimony that others can see. May my life declare that I was lost but now I am found.

Prayer Prompts:
  • “Father, take the part of me that feels far away and transform it into…” (for example: closeness with You, peace, or joy. Add your own.)
  • “Jesus, I believe You’ve welcomed me home. Help me to live each day as…” (this might look like: a son/daughter who is loved, forgiven, and free. Keep naming your own.)

5. Contemplation
  • Sit quietly and imagine yourself walking down the road, empty-handed and ashamed. You see your Father running toward you.
  • Feel His arms embrace you before you can say a word. Let His love silence your excuses and remove your guilt.
  • Picture yourself wearing the robe, ring, and sandals. Hear Him say, “My child was lost but is now found.” Rest in His acceptance.

Closing Prayer
  • Lord, I give myself to You again today. Transform my heart, renew my mind, and lead me in Your ways.

Bible Reading
Acts 9:1-9, NLT
1 Meanwhile, Saul was uttering threats with every breath and was eager to kill the Lord’s followers. So he went to the high priest. 2 He requested letters addressed to the synagogues in Damascus, asking for their cooperation in the arrest of any followers of the Way he found there. He wanted to bring them—both men and women—back to Jerusalem in chains.

3 As he was approaching Damascus on this mission, a light from heaven suddenly shone down around him. 4 He fell to the ground and heard a voice saying to him, “Saul! Saul! Why are you persecuting me?”

5 “Who are you, lord?” Saul asked. And the voice replied, “I am Jesus, the one you are persecuting! 6 Now get up and go into the city, and you will be told what you must do.”

7 The men with Saul stood speechless, for they heard the sound of someone’s voice but saw no one! 8 Saul picked himself up off the ground, but when he opened his eyes he was blind. So his companions led him by the hand to Damascus.

9 He remained there blind for three days and did not eat or drink.
Devotion
Alright PORVA… here we go! We’re stepping into 30 Days of Transformation together. For the next month, we’re going to see how God changes lives, starting with ours. Today’s passage is about one of the most dramatic transformations in the Bible: Saul, the church’s biggest enemy, meeting Jesus face-to-face.

In one moment, his mission flipped completely. The persecutor became a preacher. His entire identity and purpose were rewritten. That’s what Jesus does! He doesn’t just improve who we are, He changes who we are.

As we begin this journey, remember: the same God who transformed Saul can transform anything in your life.
Prayer
1. Praise & Worship
  • Jesus, You are the Light that shines in my darkness. No matter how deep the shadows feel, Your presence breaks through and gives me hope. I praise You today because nothing is too strong or too dark for You to overcome (John 1:5).
  • I worship You because You know me by name. Just like You spoke to Saul, You speak to me personally, and I belong to You (Isaiah 43:1).
  • You are the One who makes all things new (Revelation 21:5). You transform me completely. I lift my heart in worship because You have the power to rewrite my story.

Prayer Prompts:
  • “Jesus, I worship You today because…” (for example: You are my Savior, my Provider, my Healer. Add what comes to your mind.)
  • “I praise You that in my life You have…” (this might look like: carrying me through sickness, answering prayer for my family, providing when finances were tight. Keep naming your own.)

2. Repentance & Surrender
  • Jesus, forgive me for the ways I’ve resisted Your change. I confess the habits, thoughts, and attitudes I’ve clung to that don’t reflect You. Today I release them and ask You to cleanse me.
  • I surrender the parts of my life I’ve tried to control. I admit that my plans are not always Your plans, and sometimes I’ve been blind to Your will. Interrupt me if You need to, and set me on the right path.
  • I don’t want to cling to an old identity when You’re giving me a new one. Wash me clean, renew my mind, and help me walk as the person You’ve called me to be (Romans 12:2).

Prayer Prompts:
  • “Lord, I confess that I’ve been holding onto…” (for example: anger, worry, or a habit that doesn’t honor You. Say what fits your heart.)
  • “I surrender my plans for… and ask You to lead me.” (this might look like: my career, my relationships, or my schedule this week. Keep going with what comes up for you.)

3. Intercession
  • Lord, I lift up those I know who are far from You - people who may even oppose You. Just as You revealed Yourself to Saul, reveal Yourself to them in undeniable ways. Break through hardened hearts with Your love and truth.
  • I pray for family and friends who need transformation. Meet them where they are, open their eyes, and draw them close to You. Let their story become a testimony of Your power and mercy.
  • Use me as part of their transformation. Help me to live in such a way that others see Your light in me. Let my words, actions, and prayers be tools in Your hands to reach them.

Prayer Prompts:
  • “God, I lift up (name) to You. Show them…” (for example: Your peace in anxiety, Your healing in sickness, Your love when they feel alone. Add specifics for the person you’re praying for.)
  • “Jesus, I pray You would break through in (situation/person) by…” (this might look like: restoring a relationship, breaking an addiction, or softening a hard heart. Keep going with your own words.)

4. Transformation
  • Jesus, transform my mission so it lines up with Yours. If I’m chasing the wrong things, stop me in my tracks and redirect me like You did for Saul. I want my purpose to come from hearing Your voice, not following my own agenda.
  • Change my heart when I drift toward pride, comfort, or control. Replace my stubbornness with a soft spirit that listens to You quickly. Like Saul, I want to rise up with a new direction, ready to serve You.
  • Your Word says that anyone in Christ is a new creation, the old life is gone, and a new life has begun (2 Corinthians 5:17). Today, I receive that promise for myself. Transform me until my life reflects You in everything.

Prayer Prompts:
  • “Lord, I need Your transforming power in the area of…” (for example: patience with my kids, my thought life, or my attitude at work. Name the area where you need Him most.)
  • “Jesus, change the way I think about… so I can see it through Your eyes.” (this might look like: money, success, or my future. Add the perspective you know needs to shift.)

5. Contemplation
  • Sit quietly, close your eyes, and picture yourself walking on the road to Damascus. Suddenly a blinding light stops you in your tracks.
  • Imagine Jesus calling your name, just like He did with Saul. What would He ask you? Would it be: “Why are you running? Why are you worrying? Why are you resisting Me? Why are you doubting?”
  • Stay quiet for 2 minutes. Don’t answer right away, just listen. Let His question linger until you sense what He’s speaking to your heart.

Closing Prayer
  • Lord, I give myself to You again today. Transform my heart, renew my mind, and lead me in Your ways.
